A Timeline of Growth at Spaceco
For decades, Spaceco has led the Midwest’s growth and development as one of the region’s most trusted engineering firms. Our company history includes transformative, innovative projects that have pushed the boundaries of what’s possible.
1977
Spaceco was founded in 1977 with a vision to become the Midwest’s leading civil engineering, surveying, and consulting firm.
1989
Spaceco becomes part of the Christopher B. Burke Group of companies with plans to continue expanding and developing the firm’s services.
1993
After nearly 20 years operating from its original office, Spaceco relocated to its current headquarters at 9575 W. Higgins Road in Rosemont, IL.
2000
After 6 years with the the firm, William Loftus is named president of Spaceco.
2003
After using the same logo since its founding, a new logo is created that strengthens our commitment to our service offerings.
2006
Spaceco opened our second office location in Morris, Illinois to expand its operations and provide local services to our clients in the southwest suburbs of Chicago.
2009
For the first time since 1989, Spaceco becomes majority owned by its employees who directly work for the company.
2019
Michael Mondus and Brett Duffy named Firm Principals, serving a wide array of clients and both having over 25 years experience in the land development community.
2021
Spaceco opened our third office location in Indianapolis, Indiana to expand its operations and serve the needs of our growing client base throughout the Midwest.
2022
Daniel Stevens is named the new President of Spaceco. After 22 years as President and 28 years working for Spaceco, William Loftus is named firm Principal.
2024
In line with changes in company leadership, Spaceco undergoes a rebranding effort and develops a new logo. The new logo pays respect to the past while also looking to the future.
